The nature of services provided at innerÅligned LLC:

Integrative Manual therapy is:

  • A manual treatment that aims to restore resilience to tissues of the physical body. Resilience is the natural state of the body and is self-organizing across systems, and we seek to encourage this dialogue through hands on support that nurtures an optimal state of health.

  • Attending to the root cause or causes of dysfunction, injury, disease or pain, will support positive outcomes for long term health. Root issues often relate to a state change in the structure of the body, from which functional issues can originate.

  • A complementary modality to traditional and appropriate medical interventions, we function as a cog in the machine of the client’s chosen health team. We are not a replacement for conventional medicine.

The methods of Integrative Manual Therapy include but are not limited to, the following: bodywork; breath work; postural assessment; massage; self-massage; self-stretching; breathing exercises; somatic exercises; embodiment practices;

Underlying theory:

Manual therapy traditions hold that the quality and mobility of soft tissue can influence comfort and function.

In your body, things like repetitive occupational loads, surgeries, injuries, falls and/or collisions, generate responses that look and feel like friction or restriction: reorganized tensions and altered movement strategies are a natural byproduct of these changes. We term this compensation.

Adaptation in structures compound over time. Redistributed mechanical forces across the body result in the emergence of compensatory patterns. Occurrences such as these may precede and underlie a wide range of acute or chronic presentations. The application of manual treatment has significant value in supporting health, athletic performance, and in the reduction of degenerative disease.

Our vocational manual support helps you in resolving structural issues, by clarifying the causative mechanism underlying your chief complaint or symptom. Correcting the position, mobility and vitality of the structures related to an issues origin, supports a corrective effect on the function of the body, thereby reducing and resolving the symptoms and/or dysfunction, which can be experienced as, and are not limited to, persistent pain, headache, fatigue, or anxiety.

The theory of our treatment is based on ideology from massage, biomechanics, hydrotherapy, pathology and somatics.

What to expect during your visit:

To determine the purpose and intention of your visit, a consultation dialog may include any or all of the following aspects:

  • Areas of general focus that you are seeking support for, such as but not limited to, health maintenance and/or athletic optimization, surgery or traumatic recovery, support for degenerative diseases, and/or therapy of pathology or injury.

  • A physical assessment and analysis will be conducted, with a methodological focus on analyzing relevant motion and functional testing, as well as palpation testing of relevant structures within the musculoskeletal, craniosacral, visceral and nervous systems.

  • Gentle manual therapy techniques will be administered to the client, relevant to their affected structures and within the scope of our training.

  • Sessions may include techniques that affect the musculoskeletal, cranial, sacral, visceral, fascial, ligamental, articular and nervous systems.

  • At the end of the first session, if requested, general findings, structures worked on and observations will be related.

  • The session will be completed with a discussion on any questions that have arisen, and a dialog to determine continuing support should subsequent sessions be indicated.

Education, Training and Experience:

Ramesh supported his first client in 2004. Their reduced anxiety, physical tension and stress remain a touchstone for his vocational service. A 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training on Salt Spring Island in 2005 supported a practice in development since 1994 and before. In 2012 he graduated from a 3000 hour education focused on therapeutic massage therapy. Board certified in Canada in 2013 he has been in some form of manual practice since then. Since 2015 he has taken over an additional 1800 hours of continuing education courses with luminaries in numerous fields. He is currently attending and still a student at the Swiss International College of Osteopathy where he is learning about cross sectional anatomy of the human body, and robust strategies for supporting clients dealing with pain, stress and tension.
